Advanced Ventilator Support
Some newborns need only extra oxygen or gentle breathing support, while others may require mechanical ventilation. Our neonatal team assesses each baby and selects the appropriate respiratory support according to their condition. Options may include CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), and mechanical ventilation. For selected newborns, surfactant therapy or inhaled nitric oxide may also be considered when clinically indicated.
Brain monitoring and birth-asphyxia care
Some newborns need special care to protect their brain and nervous system. Our team provides gentle, continuous monitoring of your baby’s brain activity around the clock. For babies who experience a lack of oxygen during birth, we offer cooling therapy (therapeutic hypothermia) to help protect brain function and support recovery when started early.

Premature Baby Care & Incubators
Premature and low birth weight newborns may require specialised support with temperature regulation, breathing, feeding, infection prevention, and growth for days or weeks. Our NICU provides incubator and warmer care, respiratory support, expressed breast milk feeding, tube feeding when required, total parenteral nutrition (TPN) when enteral feeding is insufficient, and vascular access such as PICC lines or umbilical lines when clinically indicated. Care also includes structured growth monitoring, nutritional support, and close monitoring of each baby’s clinical progress to support healthy development.
Jaundice, hearing and ROP care
We carefully check newborns for jaundice using simple skin tests or blood tests, providing gentle LED light therapy (phototherapy) if needed. For premature and high risk babies, we also arrange routine newborn hearing tests (OAE/BERA) and specialized eye checks for Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP). If laser eye treatment is ever required, we quickly coordinate expert care to keep your baby’s vision safe and healthy.
Point-of-Care Diagnostics
Critically ill babies need close watching and gentle care without unnecessary movement. We continuously monitor your baby’s heart rate, breathing, and oxygen levels right at their bedside. Our team also performs quick bedside blood tests and ultrasounds/echoes to check their heart, brain, and lungs, keeping them safe, comfortable, and undisturbed.
Neonatal Transport
For selected babies at risk of neurological injury, our neonatal team provides continuous neurological assessment to monitor brain function. Therapeutic hypothermia is available for eligible newborns with hypoxic ischaemic encephalopathy when started within the appropriate clinical window following specialist evaluation.
Family-centred NICU care
Parents are an important part of neonatal care. When clinically safe, the team supports expressed breast milk, lactation guidance, kangaroo mother care/skin to skin contact and regular explanations of the baby’s progress. Visiting and infection-control rules may change depending on the baby’s condition and NICU safety requirements.
